Young scientist who developed Aqualuz at 15, which is the only technology to treat cistern water using sunlight in the world, focused on rural areas without access to water. At 17 she founded the SDW to develop technologies that would make access to water and sanitation a universal right. At 18 she was the youngest Brazilian graduate in Leadership for New Enterprises from MIT. For her impact work, she won in 2019 the UN Young Champions of the Earth Award, the main UNEP award for young people, also being the first brazilian. She was considered one of “20 inspiring young people in her 20” by McKinsey & Company (2019). She was the first Brazilian finalist of the global Green Tech Award, and the only one in Latin America in the 2020 edition. Today SDW already impacts more than 1,500 people in Brazil, and it counts not only with Aqualuz, but also with a solar desalinizer: Aquasolina and the new technology for combating and preventing Covid-19 for people on the street: Aquapluvi, a system for collecting and treating rainwater at bus stops for hand hygiene. With these technologies, Anna and SDW works directly to achieve SDGs 3 (Health) and mainly 6 (Water and Sanitation).
